Know What You Want
Sometimes you crave certain foods and sometimes you’re just hungry. When you’re just hungry, it may not matter what you eat you just need to ease the hunger so you eat because you have to. When you crave something, it’s more than easing hunger. It’s about filling a desire…tasting and enjoying that which you crave. Life can sometimes lose its flavor and you can lose your taste for hopes, dreams and fulfillment you once had. You begin to go through the motions of life just because you have to but you’re not sure if it matters. When you embrace rather than reject how God value’s you, there is a renewed hope that life does matter, your life matters. “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him.” Psalm 34:8
Feeling God’s love and forgiveness through Jesus build’s a craving to feel it time and again. Those feelings are renewed daily through growing in relationship with him and serving him in earnest. God’s goodness and grace cannot be combined with rebellion, doubt and ungodliness in our diet. You decide and know what you want. Will it be the temporal and deceptive pursuits of this world and your own sin nature or will it be surrender to God’s goodness and work in your life? Every person will produce fruit in their life. Will it be lasting fruit of the spirit or the spoiled fruit of the flesh?
Consider and pray:
Joshua 24:15 reminds us that following Christ requires your decision to do so.
Romans 7 warns us that there is a constant battle within us…flesh vs. spirit
Galatians 5:16-22 gives the fruit of the flesh vs. the fruit of the spirit.
Pray for a craving for righteousness. You will be filled. Matt. 5:6
