A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Whit began his ministry as Senior Pastor at Covenant Baptist Church on August 20, 2018. Whit spent 12 years serving as Senior Pastor of Frederica Baptist Church on St. Simons Island, Georgia, before beginning his ministry at Covenant. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Whit received his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Greg has been in the ministry for 50 years. A graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Greg has served in both full- and part-time music positions in churches in Alabama, Louisiana and Tennessee. He and his late wife Gail wrote more than 30 musical works published by LifeWay Christian Resources, where Greg served for 30 years in music publishing.

Greg now serves as our Administrative Pastor. His wife Gail went to be with the Lord in January of 2016 after 45 years of marriage. Greg has two daughters, Katie and Julie. Julie and her husband Kasey have three children, Alex, Ella, and Jax. They live in the Nashville area and spend lots of time at Grandad's house.

Shay is a native of south Alabama but has lived in Nashville since 1999. He holds a degree in Music Education from Troy University and has been on staff with Covenant since 2012.

While in Nashville, Shay has worked as a songwriter and producer. He has recorded, written, and/or shared playbill with many artists including Dove Award-winning Sidewalk Prophets; Grammy nominees Sonic Flood and
DC Talk/Newsboys' Michael Tait; and Curb recording artists Selah, Charlie Daniels, Tanya Tucker, and many others. His songs have achieved chart success and have been used by television networks such as Nickelodeon, NBC, CMT, ESPN, Fox and TBN. He has used his music and abilities as a spokesman for Mission of Mercy as well as for Lust Free Living and is currently coauthoring a book on Christian unity.  

Shay and his wife Claire were married in 2000 and have a daughter, Piper, and a son, Noble.

Tammy joined our staff in June of 2019. She is a University of Tennessee graduate and served as an editor at LifeWay Christian Resources for more than 20 years and then as assistant to the executive director and ministry strategist at the Nashville Baptist Association for three years. Her passion is to serve, engage and encourage people as they seek to grow in their relationship with Christ.
